The Florida Polytechnic University solar car racing team, known as "Phoenix Racing," has been working tirelessly to design and construct a state-of-the-art solar-powered vehicle for the upcoming competition. Led by project team president Spencer Blackwell, the team of 15 students has accomplished a remarkable feat by completing the entire process within a single year, a timeline that typically takes two years to achieve.The team's dedication and innovative spirit have been evident throughout the project. They have meticulously engineered a vehicle, dubbed "Spark," that can reach speeds of up to 46 miles per hour and boasts a range of more than 300 miles, comparable to a standard sedan. Facing the Challenge Head-On

The Formula Sun Grand Prix in Kentucky, the upcoming competition, will put the team's skills and the car's capabilities to the test. Over the course of three days, each driver will have the opportunity to take the wheel for four out of the eight hours of racing each day. The team that completes the most laps will emerge victorious.While the competition promises to be fierce, with top-tier universities like MIT, Stanford, and Michigan participating, the Florida Polytechnic team remains undaunted.
